About the Role
We are looking for a creative and patient instructor to introduce our youngest students to the world of engineering. This role focuses on “Learning by Doing,” where students use familiar LEGO Technical components paired with the power of micro:bit to bring their creations to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Basics: Teach students how to use gears, axles, and beams to build structures that can carry, lift, and move objects.
- Micro:bit Integration: Guide students in coding micro:bit controllers to automate their LEGO builds.
- Task-Based Learning: Create challenges where students must design a robot to finish specific tasks (e.g., a forklift that can lift a block).
- Mentorship: Foster curiosity and problem-solving skills in elementary-aged beginners.
Key Requirements
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with LEGO Technical parts and mechanical joints.
- Coding: Proficiency in micro:bit (MakeCode/Blocks) for motor and sensor control.
- Patience: Ability to work effectively with beginner students who are just starting their STEM journey.
